People affected by cancer experience significant psychological and physical impacts from their diagnosis and treatment, and this doesn’t end when cancer treatment ends. Some cancers are incurable and require lifelong treatment, while others cause life changing effects that mean people need to adapt to a new ‘normal’. Evidence is growing of the benefits to patients and NHS resource from the proactive management of patient need.

To continue our work in this aspect, we will work with our partners and patients to deliver co-produced improvement plans and agreements in the following areas:

  • Psychological support
  • Cancer prehabilitation to help patients physically and psychologically prepare for cancer treatment to ensure they are in the best health possible.
  • Behaviour changes and interventions that support increasing physical activity levels.
