The East Midlands Cancer Alliance (EMCA) was established in 2017 with the objective of improving outcomes for cancer patients across the East Midlands.

Our Vision:
The East Midlands Cancer Alliance is a collaboration of stakeholders including health, social care and the third sector organisations who work together with patients to develop and deliver new models of care to achieve our collective ambition for world class cancer outcomes as set out in the Cancer Taskforce Report. Patient Voice and listening to patient experience are fundamental guiding principles of the Cancer Alliance. 

Governed by a board of senior clinicians and medical leaders our Chair is Sonia Swart Chief Executive Officer of Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust and our clinical director is Professor David Baldwin Consultant Physician in respiratory medicine at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust and Honorary Professor in the School of Medicine at the University of Nottingham.

The EMCA is one of 16 regional Cancer Alliances within England covering 5 Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP) areas Leicestershire, Rutland, Lincolnshire (part), Nottinghamshire (part), Northamptonshire and Derbyshire (part).
